Healthy Mind

Financial success is held up as the primary goal in our culture, but it is far from the sole driver of satisfaction. The old adage that money doesn’t buy happiness is true. There is a deeper quality that holds the key to happiness, and it not necessarily linked to your bank account: fulfillment. Have you ever met someone who makes tons of money but is still miserable? Or someone who makes little, but seems fulfilled anyway?

I spent years on the financial “hamster wheel,” struggling to make enough money, thinking that would make me happy. In my quest, however, I was sacrificing my family and my health. Financially, I may have been doing well, but my body and mind were suffering. The truth is, it is very difficult to maintain optimal health if you aren’t focusing on all three areas.

When I was laid off from my high-pressure, high-stress corporate job after September 11th, I went on a two month sabbatical in Costa Rica, where I learned more than I ever expected.

The locals were some of the happiest, most grounded people I’d ever met—yet their homes had dirt floors and they lived off the land. It finally clicked: money wasn’t the panacea I’d assumed it to be. I craved balance, simplicity and purpose.more than I ever expected.

So what do you really want? What does balance look like to you? Until you know what’s most important to you, you can’t create it. Think about what health looks like to you—health as a whole, not just financially, but physically and mentally too. What’s your optimal health score?

One of the biggest lessons I ever learned from Tony Robbins 23 years ago is that there are two ways to learn: model someone who’s achieved what you want, or go through the school of hard knocks to learn it yourself.

Finding the right mentor is key! Success comes easiest when you can emulate someone else who’s created what you want and been able to sustain it over time. Too many people are teaching principles that sound good but which they themselves haven’t mastered.

I don’t have all the answers, but I have been very fortunate to have some incredible mentors that have helped me create my ideal lifestyle and a career that allows me to live according to my values.

I designed the 30-day challenge to share with you the best of what I’ve learned so you can fast track yourself to becoming a “Lifestyle Entrepreneur” and avoid the mistakes I made along the way.

It begins with a self-assessment of your behavior and communication styles, so you can get a good look at your strengths and weaknesses. You’ll also be able to take our Values Assessment, which will shed light on what motivates you. From there, each week I will give you brief training modules and an assignment you can apply to your life and then practice until it becomes an integrated habit.

With me as your guide, you’ll be able to master integral life skills:

  • Learn what it means to be a Lifestyle Entrepreneur (Hint: It’s not about having a 4 hour work week)
  • Creating your “Sweet Spot” – Mastering the Hedgehog Concept
  • Structural Dynamics – the most powerful goal setting process I’ve ever seen
  • Time management – how to organize your life around what’s most important
  • And so much more…

This isn’t a quick-fix program. It takes dedication, but the payoff is building a life around what’s important to you in all three areas of the trilogy–healthy body, mind, and finances.
